nobody's in the mood for recording 6.9: the post-trial garden tea "party"

The flowers that bloomed at the end of the trial are ones that only seem to prove, continuously, that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Of course, it's only natural that many of the people are full of mixed emotions - grief? sadness? anger? frustration? maybe something else completely different?

But it's there, along with the end of the week.

Miasma still continues to be around, of course - but make use of the fact that this might be the last time it'll be at a low level one before it shoots up again.


Well.

Life continues as usual, disregarding any feelings that any of the house's occupants might be feeling.

So what are you doing these next two days?

[Emil is looking at his red bandana like he can't believe what he's seeing. Really? For him?]

Of course really!

[ Giovanni gives Emil a hearty pat on the back. ]

You're a valued member of the team, Rocksteady! Go on, try it on!

I...thank you!

[Emil seems rather touched! He doesn't hesitate, he takes the bandanna and tries it on. His perfect hair seems to sparkle under it]

How does it look?

[ Giovanni sniffles and wipes a proud tear from his eye. ]

Like you were born to wear it! Forget Blaster - I could see you as an actual Banzai Captain in that thing!

[ It's a compliment, Emil. Roll with it. ]

You think? I do believe I have the presence of a captain.

[He's getting his ego stroked, this bandanna was a seriously good idea]

Okay, don't get ahead of yourself, buddy. Maybe in a few years. Gotta leave room for yours truly to get promoted first, after all! But once I'm a Vice Principal, then you can Captain your heart out.

[Apparently giving Emil the bandanna did wonders for Emil's opinion of Giovanni's group. He really loved the gesture]

Will you have much competition on the way to the top? There can't be that many good candidates, I'm sure.

[ Hmm. The question gives him a little more pause than might be expected. ]

You know, I don't actually know. Banzai Blaster squads are pretty spread out, so I haven't met a lot of the other Captains. I usually just wait till my performance review to see how I'm doing... but you've got a solid idea there! Once we get outta here, I'll conduct some reconnaissance on the area's other squads, using my finely honed capacity for stealth! Soup stealth!!
