RECORDING 4: THE SECOND WEEK

A second week in this place begins, with less of your number among you. With first blood - and oil - spilled, it now seems as if it'll only be a matter of time before the worse eventually happens once more. Thankfully, it seems as if the Miasma is content to remain at the same levels it did before, so arguments are unlikely to break out, though tensions are surely high after everything that's already occurred.

Speaking of which, the temperature remains a consistent comfortable early to mid 70's in the house. It appears at least that you'll be here in comfort..? Though it appears that the rooms have changed, so hopefully you kept anything essential in the static area.

Yet, something feels...wrong. The house feels as if it is laughing at you, when you awake...

...What new horrors await you this week?

WARNING: Some investigations of new areas will contain traps that may be harmful or even lethal.

[ He'll come in here as well, seemingly to relax.

Though Haku's efforts do catch his eye. ]

Oh? What exactly are you tending to now?

[Oh. Well, hello??? He's tense for a second, then relaxes again when he realizes it's Gil.]

I'm wondering what, if anything, can be done to make things fool proof.

[ ...Well, he supposed someone was also taking note of the room for potential ways to make tomorrow a success, because what truly was relaxing in a place like this? ]

Hm...

[ He's taking in the room as he planned to at any rate. He disliked how the miasma was basically all in the walls.

...Though, it's strange. He thought back to it's sudden decision on the 'murder game', and the fact the Agent still persisted. There had to be a "limitation" to the ghosts here, but he wasn't seeing one just yet. ]

There's only one visible exit point here. If our enemy were the normal sort, I'd argue an easy defense could be set up near the door, where we'd be able to easily overwhelm them. Our best strategy in any possible, future confrontation, whenever they may be, would be to keep ourselves on high alert and using evasive maneuvers.

[ Though that would also require vacating the room at some point, and the ghosts were on an intense hunt for the Agent. Gilgamesh presumed that Haku would reach the same conclusion, even without the blond explicitly mentioning that this talk concerned the operation tomorrow. ]

If we had a way to properly secure a room, it would be less difficult to put together an effective strategy, and making a place to defend from wouldn't be near impossible.

[He's listening carefully. His expertise isn't with battle tactics per se and lie more in covert assassinations. True, there may be some overlap there, but operating on larger scales and coordinating team efforts? Not his forte. But he does nod in agreement.]

It's rarely advisable to strike when you lack critical pieces of information, yes.

[Which is why, he'd been a little alarmed by the suggestion people had about combat teams, but what's he supposed to do about other people's survival instincts?]

I hadn't considered this before, but technology has given them even more of an advantage.

[Unless Dazai can somehow still negate robot lasers. Somehow it just seems doubtful that they'd be so lucky.]

[ If anything, Gilgamesh had experience dealing with having to fight against enemies that were too great to meet head on casually. But a situation like this...

The blond had thought of various ideas himself, but thinking of the proper point of attack would be like taking a shot in the dark...where the dark could immediately and irrevocably fuck you up. There was the idea of a 'last resort' as well, but he wasn't looking to cause unnecessary, massive casualties and being uncertain every last bit of the enemy was eliminated.

He had a feeling that total extermination would be the true siren song of this creature...akin to how Tiamat was dealt with. Nothing more, nothing less. ]

It is. Though, what makes it frustrating is that we can't even come up with a solid plan to truly give ourselves a robust defense from where we can eventually launch an attack. If only because we don't know the true limitations of our enemy.

[ ... ]

That's likely part of why she was chosen as the new 'vessel'. Her personality seems even more suited for ruthlessness than the previous one, even if she hasn't done as much as he had when she made her appearance.

[His brow furrows for a moment. Reaching for a pen and a sheet of paper, he writes as he speaks.]

There was one thing.

[Turning the paper over in his hands, it reads:]

T said all the miasma was coming from one room.

If true, that's something to work with.

[ ...Interesting. ]

As usual, I doubt it'd be an easy endeavor. But we've been dealing with the difficulty of this situation for awhile now.

[ As much as Gilgamesh vastly preferred talking aloud, he wasn't a fool. He probably brought a pen and a piece of paper with him in here somehow, as a result of today's shenanigans, so he went to grab them.

When he finished writing what he wanted to, he also made sure to hold up the sentences written. ]

It's far too early to put together a plan without knowing where the room would be, and any other possible hurdles. But, once we do, we could have a way to destroy it at its source.

[ Gilgamesh hadn't known if the source of the miasma was inside or outside of the building, but this was answer enough for him. It was decidedly the former. ]
