RECORDING 3: THE FIRST TRIAL

The worst has happened... and now you're all here, in the living room where you first met Todd. As all of you enter, the Vessel is there - glowering at all of you, still missing the arm Dazai shorn from him with his touch.

On one of the tables away from the center is a small enclosed box entitled 'VOTES', with slips of paper nearby and a pen. It's sufficiently away from what will be the 'main' action, but not enough to really give anyone complete privacy as they vote.

Once everyone is inside, the doors automatically shut and lock themselves, leaving you trapped in here with the Vessel...and each other.

One of you is a murderer...however, in this game, the guilty do not need to be voted out. As long as there are enough people voted out that matches the victims...then it will be accepted.

...But, can you really let someone get away with murder...?

The choice...is up to you.

VICTIM: OLYMPIA
PEOPLE TO VOTE OUT: 1

WEEK 1 VOTING

But from then they'd have to work quickly. I don't think she would have just allowed someone to remove her head like that.

[s-shrinks away]

No, I'm just saying we shouldn't consider anyone 'above' suspicion... that's all. I'm sorry if it's merely stating the obvious.

That was...a lot of detail!

[Pretty disturbing, if you ask him. Olympia may have been a robot, but it still was rearranging a dead body to form something! Olympia wouldn't have wanted that at all]

That sounded a lot like what happened to the piano. I'm not saying that person did this too, but we should deal with that. Just to discard options.

Wouldn't that be difficult? She was at the 'party', so she could have spoken to any amount of us.

Which was, by the way, the only time I really spoke to her.
accessorytomurder: (oh everybody's starry eyed)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-04-18 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
....yeah...

[She sighs, rubbing her own face.]

It's... nothing about this place is easy or good, but it's... this is terrible.
baitless: an expression that can serve as either deep frustration or, perhaps, some level of grief. who can say. (i am so tired all of the time.)

It seems like a good way to attempt to absolve one’s self of responsibility if we somehow make it out of here. I say “attempt” there, because I certainly do not agree with it, but...
reanimania: (not like i do)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-04-18 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
That is what she said, yes. That both her mind and body could be restored.
accessorytomurder: (handle bars)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
...me neither.

[She regrets that keenly, now.]

A copy of her AI or consciousness (or more) is probably on the servers somewhere. Though, given the technology, I have questions about how reliable the backup is.

[Said with academic thoughtfulness here, really.]

Maybe put the evidence on the table, Saphir-san.
boardreversal: ('....')

[personal profile] boardreversal 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
....It's pretty easy to not see another human as 'human', let alone an android like Olympia-chan.
zweivoltage: (What is this...?)

[personal profile] zweivoltage 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Who would qualify as having that kind of knowledge?
ghostricked: (The Cat Came Back)

[personal profile] ghostricked 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It DID smell weird. Not like Miasma, but weird. Is that the Noise you mentioned before?
tangentlion: (neutral zone)

[personal profile] tangentlion 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. That's mine. Beautiful, isn't it?
finalring: (pic#13907920)

[personal profile] finalring 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely. It would have had to be someone that knew enough about machinery to know how to deactivate her quickly, before she went into the offensive.

Who wants to willingly see a dead body when you don't have to?

[You'd need to have nerves of steel]
accessorytomurder: (Default)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, even figuring out the choice behind the distraction might help narrow things down, right?
reanimania: (you left your albums at my place)

[personal profile] reanimania 2020-04-18 04:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not certain if that's the case or not. I still have her core, which likely contains her memory data. It's feasible that it could still be restored.
tangentlion: (I blew it...)

Ballroom pt 2 + Olympia's Head

[personal profile] kaliedoscopes 2020-04-18 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I investigated the ballroom with Marona, which had two points of interest. I'll let her handle the strange happenings on the floor.

[ A breath. ]

In the corner of the room was a pile of assorted debris, it wasn't overly large and held two objects of note. The first was a screwdriver which had grease on the handle and blood on the tip.

The second was what appeared to be an ordinary lamp with a lampshade and purple braided cord. However, when I picked up the lamp to inspect it further...I discovered Olympia's head. Her eyes were open, and there was oil on the lower half of her face.

I've brought both discoveries with me [ Pointing out to the makeshift rucksack he made out of his bedsheets. ] if anyone wants to look at them further. I'm not familiar with androids, so I was only able to glean surface details from Olympia. Most notably it seems her head was detached rather than removed in some other fashion.

[okay, she can't help but chuckle at that.]

A-Anyway. No naivete here. Don't worry.

That's all right. We're all a little tense here. It's been a long week.
oxidegreen: (Watching you.)

[personal profile] oxidegreen 2020-04-18 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[...............................]

Why did you make something like that?
accessorytomurder: (so we burst into colors)

[personal profile] accessorytomurder 2020-04-18 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
It took me...

[Her voice is small and quiet.]

It took me... a long time to write that all d-down, later. But I... I didn't want to say it out loud, if I d-didn't have to. ...it was horrifying.
boardreversal: (hmm....)

[personal profile] boardreversal 2020-04-18 04:31 pm (UTC)(link)
...Really?

[While he'd like to believe that...]

That'll rely on us getting out of here, though.
