RECORDING 1: THE FIRST DAY

For those from the future, this is a momentous day. Finally, the barrier preventing everyone from watching what happened in the Winchester House 20 years ago is lifting on the recordings of those events...no doubt everyone who's currently at the Hayes Mansion is doing whatever they can to fit unto the screening room the Hotel has put aside for them, large enough for everyone to watch the oncoming horrific events in comfort.

...But, 20 years ago, all anyone knew was that they'd finally been authorized to move. After days of waiting - in order to get a few more agents on site - the group to finally enter the house had been chosen. There were, of course, agents left behind - outside the house to provide support if need be, and to give the agents going in supplies if things got bad in there...or to report back to the Foundation in case of deaths.

Stepping into the house is eerie, but the doors swing open - and there's no sign of the black fog that'd been plaguing the area for a few days. As the group carries in what they'll need for a potential stay, it almost seems...quiet. Peaceful.

That is, until everything has been safely dragged in and stored away...and everyone comes to meet in the Living room, just in front of the entryway..

Because, you see...the moment every single agent on the mission steps fully into the house, into the living room...

The entrance doors slam shut, and cannot be opened. More than that - from the windows, it's clear to see the outside has changed - from the slightly suburban area of San Jose to a dark forest surrounding the entire house.

And if they were worried about the Agents still outside, well...yelling and screaming can be heard from the outside, flashes of what has to be power usage and attacks against something that can't be seen, something surely horrifying and terrible, because...

...It doesn't take long before all the noise from the outside stops, and only silence reigns.

Silence...and if one looked through the windows...blood smears staining the trees and ground...

...But, they are still alive. The House is quiet, though there's a faint sense of whispering at the edges of your hearing, the brush of something against your body when you least expect it. And always, always...the feeling of having willingly walked into the jaws of some great predator, of overwhelming dread in the pit of one's stomach.

Welcome, Foundation Agents.

Welcome...to the Winchester Incident.

coffee time;

[ Talk about the worst day ever in a long while, eh.

Well, he's in here. He's actually not particularly excited about the offer because instant coffee was definitely pretty inferior to coffee that wasn't. ]

Though I don't expect much from your skill in making a coffee well enough to satisfy me, you may as well go ahead.

[ He might just pour it out after a taste, however. ]

It's just instant coffee. There's not much that can be done to improve it, I think.

[ offering the king anything is always a risky deal. it's like giving food to a lion or a tiger.

but he already made the mistake, so he might as well continue and make him the coffee. ]

Do you take it with milk and sugar or black?

Unfortunately.

[ Not even wrong at all. Offering meat to Gilgamesh might even have a higher success rate...?! Okay, no, the risk was probably the same, given the fact that he was just difficult to please as always. ]

Milk and two sugars. While you busy yourself with that contraption, give me your thoughts on our situation.

[ He'll lean against a counter, looking expectant. ]

I'll do my best to explain what I think.

[ and that's while he goes to be gilgamesh's maid and serve him some coffee. ]

I believe that we...may have been lured into a trap. We may have survived while those outside died, but I don't think it's necessarily a good thing either. The last few days we had heard noises coming from the house--like a child crying. Miss Tohsaka-- the girl that looks like, uh, the goddess Ishtar-- and I went looking for the source of the noise and found nothing. Not even a spirit.

[ he adds the milk and the sugar to the instant coffee, mixing it all together before handing it to the king. his expression is one of worry ]

In other words, by entering this house, we did just as it wanted.

[ As Romani gave his thoughts, Gilgamesh was attentive to the red head's words, and he'll scoff. ]

Hmph. It doesn't change our situation now, but the mere fact neither of you two were brutally killed for idiotically running off on your own towards the sound of a 'child' crying, was nothing short of miraculous.

[ He'll take the coffee, though. The worst part about what the red head said was that it made sense to have lured them all into a trap. Once again, he thought of how an attack hadn't come their way despite the reserves being torn apart ruthlessly. And he'll take a sip of the coffee as well, before grimacing, which stopped him effectively from drinking anymore at the moment. ]

We'll have to assume that whatever fate it desires of us may be worse than the quick death our so-called ex-associates were gifted.
