WEEK 5 AFTERPARTY / WEEKEND

[After - well, all of that, there's a bit of downtime. And, given a few hours, Moriarty inevitably wakes up...and wordlessly heads to the kitchen to start preparing food for everyone who's left.

He's still preparing food for everyone there for most of the rest of the day, and though he's still tired, it's something, right? He assumes everyone will get hungry without him saying anything or gathering everyone, at least.

He has no idea if anyone's died, but....maybe, just maybe, the tides have finally turned.]

Gah...!

[Now if he could just stop accidentally cutting himself while preparing food, everything would be fine.]

[Silver is quiet as he listens, frowning]

... I don't know if it's the same for me... what I lost isn't just a person. It's... faith in people.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, people are terrible in every time.

[Silver pouts] It was naive and stupid, but I sure felt more comfortable when I thought people were trustworthy. How do you figure out which people you can trust when so many people are so good at lying...?

...I'm probably not the best person to ask. A lot of people lied to me throughout my life, but most of the time I couldn't really do anything besides go along with it and hope for the best.

[Especially when the alternative was, you know.

Death.]

But... I did have friends that cared a lot about me, and that I cared a lot about too. They're the ones I've lost, but even up until the end, I trusted them with my life - and they trusted me, too.

You already have at least a few people like that here, don't you?

[Silver touches the goggles around his neck]

.... well. I thought I did. Now it's just Moriarty... and you... You... helped me on Wednesday. So that means I can probably trust you, right...? [he sounds so unsure]

There's things I can't always talk about. Sometimes it's because it's personal, or sometimes... it's because they aren't my secrets to tell.

But Silver, if your life is ever in danger, and I can do anything to help protect you?

I'll do everything I can.

Well... I still think keeping secrets in certain situations is dumb, but... that's another one of those things I can't change. But... I would do the same for you. You're my friend. [which is more than he say for a lot of the people here, now...]

I wouldn't intentionally keep anything important from you here. But sometimes it's hard to tell if it's actually important, or if I'm just... talking about someone's private memories that they decided to trust me with so I could get to know them better.

[Hopefully that's still vague enough, if being vague still even matters.]

...Anyway, you're my friend too. So please, be careful.

I don't want to lose you too.

[Silver nods and even smiles a little, though it's forced. He's not there yet] You're not gonna lose me. I'm pretty sure I'm stuck here for good.

... Oh, do you want a hint about Animal Crossing? If you don't want to wait for something to happen in the game, you can change the date and time on the DS.

[Blinking up at him, and then looking at the game. And then back to him.]

Isn't that unfair to everyone else playing?

What, you mean like... the villagers? They won't notice. And if you mean Vanitas, I'm sure he already knows that trick and might have even used it.

Oh.

[A frown. Yeah, it would figure if Vanitas knew a trick like that, he'd use it without telling her.]

...Well, I'll probably play it normally anyway. So much is going on, I don't actually get to play very much.
