Week 4, Saturday

[As everyone files into the studio once more, they will be invited up on stage instead of to their audience seats as they normally are. On the far left of the stage is a set of 16 chairs, one for each living contestant, arranged in two rows of 8. On the right is a podium for Dazai to stand at, and in the center is a big board with spaces and numbers on it.

Once everyone gets settled in, it's time for the game.]

[She sucks in a breath, her energy for cleaning the debris quickly depleting. A piece simply falling back on the pile signals the end of her efforts there.]

Vanitas...

[She tries. She tries so hard to put strength behind that name, but it comes out weak and frail.

Another moment of hesitation. But then, she brushes a hand ever so lightly against his shoulder, brief.]

[ The digging stops and he already knows the answer.

Then the touch registers and he realizes he's not alone. Looking at Saki, his eyes bright with tears before he starts scrubbing at his face. Wiping some of the dust on his face. ]

[When she sees those eyes she quickly looks away, eyes fixed on the rubble instead. Her hands curl into fists uselessly in her lap.]

[Her voice cracks. She swallows, trying again.]
