Week 3, Friday

[As Friday morning dawns on the third week, everything seems normal. The weather is as sunny as always, there's no stillness or heavy air, and after two weeks without a murder it's easy to assume that this Friday will be the same as the others.

Well, it's a few hours yet before Dazai would show up with some fun activity for Friday. Might as well go about with getting up and ready for the day, right? Who knows what you might find waiting for you this morning.]

[Well, about that -

There's immediately a smell of blood as he walks in, along with clear signs of Nora's paint traps being disarmed.]

[ Okay. That's fun. Is there a trail of blood or any clear signs as to where the blood is coming from?

Is there going to be a head in the fridge/freezer ]

[Well he sure isn't hungry anymore. His eyes go wide, stomach turning at the smell.

Where is that blood smell coming from? Can he sniff it out?]

[It's pretty obvious where it's coming from as he steps in -

A small bit away from a couple of chairs that have been knocked over near the kitchen countertop is a large pool of blood on the floor.

There's also drag marks from the pool of blood leading through the dining room, though that's all atsushi can see from here.]

[ Is there any knives or weapons around? Any cloth or anything? ]

[And about how large is the blood pool?]

[It's decently large, definitely enough for a body to have bled. There's also a small, thin, short, streak of blood perpendicular to the drag marks, and a short distance away from the blood, is...a line of blood droplets.

There's no knives or Weapons around, but Vanitas might notice two tea cups on the counter, along with a nearby teapot.]

[ Hmm. Anything like hairs or pieces of clothes or something around where the most blood is? He'll let Kitten get the tea. Kittea ]

[Nope! There's nothing there - though Vanitas will notice that the small blood droplets are analogous with someone casting off blood spatter from a weapon.]

[ Hmm. Interesting. Anything else stands out? ]

[Well, there is the bit of washcloth sticking out of the Garbage bin...]

[ okay lets check out the washcloth and the garbage bin ]

[The washcloth is bloody, though the blood has been smeared on it, instead of being soaked through.]

[ Like it's tried to clean something? Does it look distinctly like someone cleaned off a knife or sword?

We got anything else in the trash? ]

[Exactly like it was used to clean a knife or sword, yes.

There's also a small glass vial at the bottom of the trash, with traces of a blue liquid inside of it.]

[ ...

let's grab a napkin first before using it to pick up the vial. ]

Don't drink the tea, Kitten.

[Atsushi's going to snap photos of the scene with his phone, frowning heavily. Had someone been attacked here? It seemed like it...

He'll also check out that tea and teakettle. Is it still warm or gone cold? And maybe give it a little sniff.]

[The tea is definitely room temperature, but as he comes closer, he'll notice one cup is empty with a little tea residue at the bottom, while the other is distinctly untouched, with tea still inside of it.

the Sniff check reveals that the tea is definitely oversteeped, and has a subtle, sweet scent to it. A check of the tea pot will reveal the same details, though the pot still has the tea leaves at the bottom.]

[Hm...

Sweet tea isn't too odd, but the state of it is. One cup empty, the other untouched? It's suspicious. If he could find the tea leaves used nearby, it might help him figure out what's in it. He'll take another, deeper sniff just to be sure.

As it stands, he's taking photos of the cups and their contents, as well as the tea pot. He'll probably find a container to store the brewed tea in for later as well as one for the cups.

Does anything else stand out?]

Something is off about this tea, I think. One cup is empty, but the other doesn't look like it ever got touched.

Maybe it had a sedative in it. Or poison.

[Yep, it still definitely smells sweet, but if he's not going to do much more, there's nothing else that can be figured out about it.]

[...If he uses his ability to enhance his sense of smell, would that change anything?

If not, can he check the residue at the bottom of the empty cup?]

[It'll smell faintly bitter, but that's from the oversteeping if anything.

Also, the residue is just...standard loose leaf tea residue.]

[Hmmmm....

He doesn't know how to identify poison without residue, so he supposes he'll have to take it with him to the trial.]

Vanitas? Do you have any ideas how to identify it? It smells oddly sweet and a bit bitter, but that could be sugar or syrup for all I know.

You could always taste it to see.
