Round 4 intro post
The last checks have been made. The support staff is pulling back to site 4 proper. Everyone not staying on-site at the containment area is saying their goodbyes and their 'see you soon's. It's all supposed to be business as usual, after all. Nothing really bad ever happens during this containment procedure, so everything should be alright. But despite that knowledge, there is a sense of anxiety in the air. Nobody expects anything bad to happen, but after the last year of chaos even a safe SCP like this has become 'I'll breathe more easily when it's over.'
Gabe is there too, giving his final instructions to everyone staying at the house. He looks almost bored with the proceedings, and he keeps looking back to his clipboard to make sure he has covered everything. One last run-through of how the 'game' will work, one last reminder of where to meet the retrieval team once someone has been eliminated from the game, one last warning to stay on-site until you have been eliminated. "We can't contact any of you directly during the game," he says at the end, "But we'll be watching. It should be smooth sailing, barring a bit of personal drama here and there, but all of us back at the main site will be watching carefully. If something goes wrong, we'll extract you guys."
At the very least, those familiar with Gabe will be able to tell he means what he says. So maybe his words can be reassuring?
Once everyone has left and the 24 contestants are left to their own devices, they will find a note in the living room:
Welcome!
Meet me in the studio at 2 pm. Until then, say your hellos and get to know each other.

It looks like everyone has some time to get acquainted with each other. Some finger foods (fruit and veggie trays, sandwiches, cans of soda) have been left in the kitchen for people to have for lunch.

[ Let's go with that for now. Knowing more than she should but still keeping her emotions buried down beneath the surface. ]

[ She admits, feeling admittedly sheepish as her smile relaxes a bit. Although there's still an awkwardness to it. ]

['Nakajima' was just... strange. Few people called him that. Her awkwardness is a little strange. He wonders if she's just shy...? Or...
Well, there were rumors about him, he knew. That was a sobering thought.]

[ Even if she did know about the rumors, that wouldn't put her off in the slightest bit. ]

Assuming would be bad. Asking might be just as awkward, though. He fiddles with his plate for a moment, considering.]
If it's awkward for you, 'Nakajima' is fine. Though... if there's a reason...?
[His last words are hesitant. He's assuming now she's uncomfortable with him. In which case... well, he should probably give her space.]

[ She sees that expression and it almost makes her heart sink for a moment. Even if this isn't the same Atsushi, seeing someone that looks like him with that sort of expression, it's- ]
It's not because of anything bad, I promise. I just. . . [ Inaba swallows hard. ] I-... I know the other Atsushi.

It's funny, how not reassuring that is. So she hadn't heard about his control issues, but she knew... the other him. The one he'd seen maybe once in passing, and chickened out of investigating, because what he'd seen on his face was frightening... and more than that, there was the fear that there was something about the other Atsushi that made him more--... More.
He swallows slightly, his gaze falling to his plate, feeling oddly like a round peg in a square hole. His appetite is gone now.]
I-I see... Um... I-I haven't really... met him, yet.

[ Ah.
That sure is something that is all too familiar to see, and it's something that she doesn't like seeing. She doesn't like seeing this at all, and it isn't just because he's another Atsushi. Even if they're similar in some ways, they're still different people.
That's what she's always thought.
But the panging in her chest just doesn't easily fade and her worries can't seem to disappear. She takes a deep breath to calm her nerves and relaxes her smile a little bit, although there are traces of worry there. ]
. . . Do you want to?
[ She'll understand if he doesn't but she can't help but ask that question nevertheless. ]

But it was also entirely likely that he'd see things in this other him that would only make him feel more lacking... less skilled, less capable compared to them.
It was a dilemma, one he still didn't have an answer for.]
....I don't really know.
[He sets his plate down. He knows he isn't going to continue eating, right now.]
There's things I'd like to ask him, it's true. But at the same time... I'm not sure how to handle meeting him yet.

[ She says those words calmly, smoothly. To be honest, she earnestly believes it might be good for the both of them. ]
But you don't have to, either. It's definitely not something I want to drop on either of you. Because Atsushi is too important to me to do something that would hurt him. [ There's an obvious fondness there, kind and gentle. ] And I wouldn't want to force you, either. Even if we just met, and even though the two of you might be similar. . . you're both your own person, who can make different decisions. That alone already makes you both different.
Um, but. . . If there's anything you want to ask me, or anything I can help out with otherwise, I can try my best. I'm pretty normal compared to everyone else, but my ear is always open to anything.

She can't help but compare the two of them. It's just in her nature. But she does see them as two distinct people. ]
