Six weeks.

They had been here for that long, and still...the game was continuing.
Yet, it felt like they were finally about to reach the end of it...
Just a little longer. 🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
Yet, it felt like this week would be the week they would finally get all the pieces to the puzzle.
But...could they solve it?

Only time would tell.

[ By now, Natsuno's fashion choices are as peculiar as they are common. But even by his zany standards today seems to be an exception. Who knew they made pink kimonos with dragons and birds on them, but that's exactly what Natsuno is wearing. Oh and he has geta on too.

Early in the day he can be found sitting outside by the flower gardens...meditating? Or trying to meditate in any case, because it seems like it's still an attempt in progress. There's a good amount of time he's just staring up at the sun and the clouds. In the afternoon he can be found in the first floor library; not in the rafters for once but lounging in one of the chairs, flipping through fashion magazines. They all have goat models, for some reason. Every so often he stops and cuts something out of the pages, but maybe he just really doesn't like goats. ]

[ Well, this is, uh. Certainly better than the last time she saw him in here. ]

Oh, you got the goat magazines too, huh?

[ For sure. Looking up from the magazine to Emi. ]

It was the only type they would give me.

I tried to get some magazines to look at with Ann-chan a few weeks ago when we had our fashion chat planned, and I got the same thing.

[ Kind of tilts her head to look at one of the pages... ]

It looks like this is a different issue, though.

[ It's nice that they have the resources to publish new ones regularly, she guesses?? ]

You're into a fashion too? [ Things he should have talked to Emi about earlier. ]

...there's a lot. Maybe it's what the goats do during their free time, besides eating rags.

[ Hi Natsuno, hope you weren't planning on reading that in peace. ]

[ The most deadpan expression. ]

They wear kimono's the best. [ He's being extremely sarcastic, obviously. ]

Jealous?

[ He definitely detects the sarcasm and is absolutely rolling with it. ]

[ Is it time to be stupid? It's time to be stupid. Placing the magazine down and standing up. Yay for extra height with geta, and totally striking a pose too. ]

Should I be?

[rikuchi]

[ God bless you, Natsuno. ]

Oh yeah, definitely.

[ He considers that for a moment then suddenly takes to the air (spontaneous wings are a thing), lands on the highest beam and finally hangs upside down like the most colorful bat in existence. The irony of being in this position is not lost on him given Riku gave him a recap of his own murder, but he may be poking fun at himself too. ]

How about now?

[ That sure is a thing.

For a moment, it does make him think of Natsuno's murder. ]

...I think you might actually have them beat. Not sure if they can make up to having wings, after all.

Good. [ He seems satisfied with this, and is apparently just going to hang out here for a while. ]

It's not the only thing I can do now, but it's the most useful. Makes up for the not being able to turn into a bat as a jinrou.

[ Sure, this is fine.

He'll hang down here, not doing jinrou-things and such. ]

...If you could turn into a bat, would you fly around screeching through the halls at night?

[ You keep being you Riku. ]

[ He tries to wear a serious face.

But he just...

...turns his head away and snorts. Sorry Natsuno. ]

[ Said jokingly or... is it. ]

Hopefully you'd wait until I'm wearing an ugly one.

[ One day when Riku least expects it... ]

[ When he first sees Natsuno, he waves excitedly in his friend's direction. It's nice to see him around, actual him, though some small part of him is a little concerned about what happened to the footman. As he comes closer though, he realizes that Natsuno seems to be meditating.

Ah!! It's a good thing he didn't yell out a greeting! Rather than saying anything, he comes a little closer, opens his umbrella, and patiently waits for Natsuno to finish. ]

[ You and your umbrellas, Clear. Hmm, well Natsuno actually seems to be doing a good job of meditating right now and doesn't notice that someone's come over. ]

[clearumbrella]

[ Hmm... Natsuno is concentrating really hard, isn't he? It's hard to imagine him coming out of this trance easily. If so, should he leave and come back later? Ah, but then he might miss him.

As he mulls over his options, he hums to himself lightly. Once he catches himself, he nods his head and instead switches to quietly singing. This song shouldn't be too disruptive. And who knows? It could help. ]

[ It's about halfway through Clear's song when Natsuno stirs and opens his eyes. He doesn't startle and emerges from the meditation pretty smoothly even if his voice is light and softer than usual. ]

...Clear? You're singing again.

[clearumbrella]

[ Once he hears Natsuno, his voice fades in the middle of a note. Based on how he sounds though, he isn't bothered by it. On the contrary, he sounds happy. ]

Yes, Koide-san. I thought it might help you concentrate.

[ A gentle huff. ]

Mn, kinda. It helped me wake up, at least. Usually it's more jarring than that... [ Running a hand through his hair. ]

Were you on one of your walks?
