Six weeks.

They had been here for that long, and still...the game was continuing.
Yet, it felt like they were finally about to reach the end of it...
Just a little longer. 🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
Yet, it felt like this week would be the week they would finally get all the pieces to the puzzle.
But...could they solve it?

Only time would tell.

OH! UH. [THAT IS A SCARY LOOK.] A-Alright, then. Just... Let me know if you need anything. [He quickly bows and exits the room to not invoke the demon's wrath.]

[When Moriarty speaks, it's in a deadly serious tone.]

Not to interrupt you, but might I speak with you out in the hall about a medical issue?

[The sound of his name is barely enough to snap Erhard out of his daze. He doesn't step back from his embrace, but he does look over his shoulder at Moriarty with haunted, tear-bright eyes and a thousand-yard stare.]

Wh-- what...?

...Please, doctor. I'd like to talk with you about a medical issue I'm having lately, if you would be so kind...?

[He smiles, brightly - back to being the jovial old man he normally is.]

[Caarcrinolaas peers at Moriarty, the scarlet eyes suspicious, but he makes no move yet to encourage Erhard to stay - yet]

[His attention darts back and forth between Moriarty and... and....

Duty, or his heart?]

[Caarcrinolaas will easily feel his tension, torn as he is.]

[Terios finally makes a move and grabs Erhard's pant leg in his mouth, pulling at it gently in Moriarty's direction]

[But he's moving. Stumbling a bit, his eyes fixed on the demon, but still moving.]

I'll just be a moment... please don't go....

[He smiles, more human-like, though briefly a baleful glare of suspicion falls upon Moriarty]

I'll be here or the library if you wish to resume or conversation.

Yes... yes, of course....

[He tears his gaze away and follows Moriarty a bit clumsily. He seems a bit less out of it once they're in the hall, though he keeps touching his forehead where the demon brushed away the lock of his hair.]

Please, just tell me what you want. I need to get back to him.

[And that's when Moriarty basically grabs him and begins to march him down the hall without a word - his grasp very hard to get out of, what with Servant strength behind it.]

That's not him, Doctor. Do not be a fool and make a poor decision solely out of your feelings for Holmes.

[Erhard makes a pitiful sound, trying to pull away while his eyes fix on the entrance to the sitting room.]

No, you're wrong... I know he's in there! There's a demon, I know, but Sherlock is in there, too!

[Nope - he's just roughly dragging the other man along, not caring about his feelings.]

A shard of the man, and not the man himself! Is that what you want to have? A mere Fraction of the person who you fell for? If so, then don't you dare to presume that you actually care about the man if you're comforted by a mere demon wearing his face!

... he can fight it if he knows I'm here. I'm trying to call him back!

[He can't resist Moriarty's pull, and he knows the man is right. Nirrti is damaged but still too strong for that piece of Sherlock to take control again. He won't cry in front of the man's rival, but God does he want to.]

[Unfortunately, that's when Moriarty loses all of his patience - and lets Erhard's hand drop, whirling around, his face nothing but sheer cold anger and piercing eyes.]

Fine, then. Go to the demon and get your soul taken away or whatever it wants to do with you while you lick your wounds and tell yourself that this is enough.

If you want that so badly, I won't stop you. But know this - you are nothing but a coward for taking that option and looking away from what is rational, and you're certainly not worthy of standing by his side.

Go ahead and languish in your own despair - I won't stop you, nor will I care. But know that Holmes certainly will weep at seeing what you've become.

[cryosurgeon]

[Moriarty might as well have slapped Erhard with that last. The man's eyes widen, but they also begin to clear.]

I... y-- you're right, I don't know what I was thinking... I must've dissociated again.

[He shivers.]

Thank you for pulling me away from him.
