WEEK 5 MINGLE - AMARANTHUS

Another trial, another horrible outcome.

This time, it affected so many people...and yet, they still weren't done.
Who would be killed next?
Would they be able...to handle whatever happened?🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
It was all becoming routine at this point.
Was that a good thing, or a bad one...?
It was...too hard to tell, now...

...Either way, they were now closer to the end.
So, like always...they had to see it through.

[He's... brought the gummy bear over to where she's singing, though it does look like he's slowly and decorously shaving bits off of it instead of just taking bites directly. Once she's all done with a set he gives her a little applause.]

Your singing voice is a little different from what I thought. But in a good way.

[A minor gesture to the gigantic gummy bear.]

Is this a gift from the mansion...?

[This sure is a weird mansion sometimes.]

It is. I really don't know how they pick these things out.

[He's always here to be crystal clear and to stan fellow pink nonhumans. ☆]

We have all this equipment, after all, it would be a waste otherwise. I think a lot of us have pretty good singing voices.

[The most efficient way to snack is to bring the whole bear??]

I wonder if it's just stuff they have in storage. I got... [he rummages for a bit and then out pops this li'l guy] ... this thing.

[ I'm just going to keep this to one thread, but assume she clapped supportively when he finished his song. ]

It might be fun to try singing one together sometime.

[ She sits down next to him and pulls the songbook into her lap to see what other familiar songs she can find, but looks back up when he lets the hat out of the bag. ]

Oh... that's kind of cute?

[ Makes for a fairly dumb hat, though, she'll admit. ]

I'm not sure it would fit over your hair very well, though. Did you try it on?

Aha, thanks, I really haven't done much singing before...

[He's scratching his head and looking mildly embarrassed, but it seems to be an automatic polite reaction more than anything else. Singing is good times and he's going to peek in on the songbook, too.]

I wouldn't mind a duet, either, I think we'd work together pretty well. But you'd have to pick the song -- I don't know any of these.

[In the meantime, he gives a thoughtful look and then pulls the hat over his head. It really doesn't fit over his hair that well, but it at least kind of stays up there in a sea of pink.]

Okay, let me see what I can find.

[ She picks up her drink from the table to sip while she pages through. There aren't a lot of duets that come to mind, or at least not many she expects to find in this book, but...

Her finger trails down a page of song titles in the latter half of the "D" section until she comes to a stop on "Don't Go Breaking My Heart". ]

Ah, this one was a pretty big hit in my world a year or so a--

[ She ends up cutting off her own sentence with an unexpected laugh when she notices the dog cap floating on top of his hair, and her hand abandons the page to reach up and adjust the hat's position. ]

That works better than I expected, honestly.

[ Though he sure isn't about to get mentioned on any Best Dressed lists like that. ]

[He's still just slowly whittling down this gummy bear, so someone should probably take it away from him at some point. He hasn't been eating as much lately as he was at the beginning, and more rarely in public, but he's demonstrated in times past that he's probably capable of finishing the whole thing--

There's a blink when Emi laughs and then he gives her a lopsided grin, ducking his head a little instinctively when she adjusts the hat but not actually trying to get away. He seems content to keep it on when she's done, and a little brighter-eyed somehow.]

My whole closet is like this, anyway. [as she knows] So I'll try out anything once -- maybe that's why I got a weird hat?

[He's going to lean over and peek at the songbook, though.]

--I definitely don't know that one, but we can practice.
