Another trial, another horrible outcome.

This time, it affected so many people...and yet, they still weren't done.
Who would be killed next?
Would they be able...to handle whatever happened?🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
It was all becoming routine at this point.
Was that a good thing, or a bad one...?
It was...too hard to tell, now...

...Either way, they were now closer to the end.
So, like always...they had to see it through.

[Shadow frowns. It's somewhat surprising to him that Erhard is more concerned about the lost time than the betrayal of a family member but... then again, not everyone is as vengeful as he is.]

Well, you'll just have to work extra hard to make up for that time. I'm sure you'll do fine.

That time and all the weeks here, yes. I'll be treating Foundation personnel non-stop once we return. Though it would be nice to set up in a surgical center somewhere and help the general public.

[He wants to think well of the Foundation, but despite his earlier insistence to Ann that the organization is for the good of humankind, he's starting to have doubts creep in along with his emotions.]

They may allow you to do that, if you prove yourself trustworthy. As long as you have no anomalous abilities you'd be using.

The only ability I gained from the SCP is to heal. I can close serious wounds or even restore lost limbs and organs.

You'll have to do it the old fashioned way out in public.

Which is what I trained for. Though it would be useful to be able to "find" donor organs when they're sorely needed.

Just be careful. Use of your powers outside of officially sanctioned Foundation operations can be considered a containment breach. You just got out of jail -- you don't want to go back. Obviously, I can't leave at all because of how I look.

Of course. I'll be careful, but I'll gladly risk being discovered if it means saving someone from a premature death.

[The idea of Shadow being stuck in the Foundation for his appearance is... sad.]

... do you ever get lonely, staying in the same place under tight scrutiny all the time?

[Well they can't just let a cartoon hedgehog go walking around, can they? Shadow finds the idea of a world with only one sapient specie to be kind of sad tbh]

... I don't really get lonely. I like to be by myself. However, staring at the same blank walls day after day does get tiresome.
