Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
It was all becoming routine at this point.
Was that a good thing, or a bad one...?
It was...too hard to tell, now...

...Either way, they were now closer to the end.
So, like always...they had to see it through.

Names have power. if Nirrti claims the name 'Yuuko' and wears her face and that goes unchallenged, then she will become 'Yuuko'. And since Yuuko-san died a long time ago, there's nobody else left alive who remembers her. Nobody but me.

My memory is faulty. Even now, I don't fully remember everything that has happened in this game. Old memories are forgotten, and new ones take their place. If Nirrti becomes 'Yuuko', then eventually I would only remember her, not Yuuko-san. And if I forget Yuuko-san, then I can't fulfill my promise to her.

I take it you can't just give yourself a physical reminder of her...?

I wouldn't know the significance of it if I had forgotten her. Besides, magic can affect mementos like that. I forgot my previous face, and changed to look how I am now. It wouldn't be hard for an object to change too.
