Another trial, another horrible outcome.

This time, it affected so many people...and yet, they still weren't done.
Who would be killed next?
Would they be able...to handle whatever happened?🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
It was all becoming routine at this point.
Was that a good thing, or a bad one...?
It was...too hard to tell, now...

...Either way, they were now closer to the end.
So, like always...they had to see it through.

Yeah. She likes you, but you're a Witch, and she wants to keep playing Witch games with you, so that doesn't help our arguments for her to stop playing.

Neither does normal morality, because she thinks of us as...what, a lesser species? Toys?

Pretty much. To most witches, mortals are like...cats, or dogs, or something. So you have to get past that mentality too.

Ugh. I hate people who mistreat animals, too. Unfortunately, I guess some Witches are just as big of jerks as some humans about that...

I guess I understand Nirrti in particular hating humans, though. She's still got the memories of the girl in the book, even if she's ignoring them, right?

Some are, but not all. And I'm not just tooting my own horn there. Lambdadelta is...odd, but still solidly in the 'good witch' category.

[And I mean. Watanuki and Joey both have black hair and trouble talking around cute girls, so???]

I think so. Even if the mind doesn't remember, the soul does. That's how I know how to cook so well despite being unable to taste my own cooking, or why I can read despite not remembering my childhood. It's probably the same for her too.

The soul remembers...

[Joey thinks about her own, Foundation-adjacent power for a moment. Different worlds with the same people. Different experiences but the same experience-rs. Different iterations of the same person, all interconnected like veins on a fallen leaf. Something in this resonates with her on a level she can't possibly understand. Yet. But it's a note to keep in mind.]

So her soul should also remember that she was kind and innocent, once. That in spite of being betrayed by them, that she had people she cared about. Her own identity.

It's not a bad thought. I would like to see her remember her humanity. It's...I know it sounds weird, but Nirrti isn't completely heartless. I've seen her softer moments.

She cares about your well-being, I guess. Just not anything you specifically want, or anyone else here.

Maybe we should talk to her "employees" more.
