WEEK 5 MINGLE - AMARANTHUS

Another trial, another horrible outcome.

This time, it affected so many people...and yet, they still weren't done.
Who would be killed next?
Would they be able...to handle whatever happened?🗈

Still, things were just the same as they had been the past few weeks.

The goats and servants were still around, and so too were the witches.
It was all becoming routine at this point.
Was that a good thing, or a bad one...?
It was...too hard to tell, now...

...Either way, they were now closer to the end.
So, like always...they had to see it through.

They don't need to both forfeit.

As long as one Witch forfeits, the loser doesn't die.

But they both should, because this whole thing is stupid. You shouldn't bet something so precious to you in a game, and you shouldn't make friends by torturing people.

They're both wrong and should admit the whole game was bad.

[He's right here you know.]

I just don't want to forget Yuuko-san. If a way can be found that meets that condition, then alright.

[He seems to pause to think that over. Hm.]

I still don't think there's anything completely wrong with the Game -- there's no point to betting your lives on a Game, or to having a Game at all if there aren't any stakes.

Sometimes you have to do that so things can change.

[He shakes his head after a moment.]

You keep talking about a different way. What do you have?

I don't know just yet, but honestly... My first inclination is to just break the game as much as possible.

And if worse comes to worse, maybe we should win, not either of them.

So, find all the loopholes and try to break all the rules, huh... It's not a bad way of figuring out where you are. But where are you going to find the power to do that?

Because if you want to win, then that means you'll have to play on equal terms with the Witches.

I think we've been doing that this whole time, haven't we? This game hasn't went the way either of them planned on it.

Hmm. Maybe. The theme of the Game isn't free will, I guess.

[That's a silly observation but you know what.]

But that still doesn't mean we're on their level. Until we find a way to do that, talking about winning the Game for ourselves is just making more work for ourselves.
