Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

I think Nirrti and the Ghost were originally the same being, but I think we all think that by now. A girl who lost her name and split into despair and rage. After speaking with Watanuki, I think that Nirrti's insistence that she is a witch is some sort of defense, ie, a way for the Nameless Girl to rationalize what happened to her. Humans can't possibly be that bad, so a witch must have done it, etc. its a wall a barrier a

Can you tell me about Takumi's theories on the Witch of Misfortune?

Sure!

His theories are very similar to what you just added! He suspects that THE WITCH OF MISFORTUNE, NIRRTI was burned at the stake as a WITCH. That she accended to Witchhood due to being betrayed so completely that her mind could not accept the pain: humans are meant to work together and need others to be healthy. Losing that in such a way would break anyone...

He theorizes that due to her hate for humanity she is both unable and unwilling to empathize with humans! Because of this hate, but still needing the social stimulation a human needs, she desires THE WITCH OF DIMENSIONS, WATANUKI as a companion. Someone to care for and protect from the pains of being human. In the vision SAKURA saw he suspects NIRRTI killed WATANUKI for the same reason someone would shoot a wounded horse- because he was 'ruined' by his humanity. For her, it would be a mercy!

He does think she has some ability to empathize still in her, but it is buried deep and she is in deep denial. She has treated him well on occasion... but he also thinks she might see him more like a dog than something on the same level as herself. Petting an animal isn't the same as having a friend!
