WEEK 4 - VENUS FLYTRAP

Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.๐Ÿ—ˆ

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

I talked about Namtar last week, but let's see...Arunasura was a demon who was killed by the goddess Durga on a technicality, after he supposedly couldn't be killed.

Kabandha was from Hindu mythology, too. He was turned into a demon by Indra, the king of the gods, but once Rama and Lakshmana kill him, he returns to his normal form.

Vanth...is also from the Underworld, I think, but I don't know much about him.

Maybe we can find a book here with information?

They're probably not from the Underworld I know, huh? But a lot of them are Hindu, kind of like Nirrti. So she's sending all these demons that are kind of like her and her god to tell a story. It's a pretty complicated way of doing things, but that seems to be her style.

...Arunasura was killed by Durga, wasn't he? And Durga is a part of Parvati and Nirrti.

[ food for thought! ]

But--they're all demons, more broadly. Or just from the Underworld.

Vanth is a more benevolent figure, and Namtar is a minor god...

[He considers]

Though the underworld connection is the likely link.

Arunasura and Kabandha were both Rakshasha, Namtar was one of the Underworld's gods...do you know anything about Vanth? I'm not the most familiar with him.

Vanth is Etruscan, she doesn't have a Roman counterpart. She shows up in funerary art, and scenes of death with a scroll, likely a psychopomp or goddess of fate.

Oh, a goddess.

[ thinking ]

I guess that throws "demons" out...the Underworld or the afterlife in general seem more likely, in that case.
