Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

Oh, right! You said she totally threw away the human part or something? So she decided the old human part was weak (I mean, it kind of is), and then stole a god's name and ran with it...

It's a pretty daring thing to do.

Though, I wonder if the outcome would be the same if either of them won...

Yeah, because the pain of being human was greater than the pain to become a witch.

I think Ann and Sherlock are right. I think we have to consider a third answer.

If becoming a Witch or a human is such a pain, then why doesn't she just change the meaning of being a Witch or a human? That would probably solve her problems, whatever they are.

[How is this even a feasible suggestion.]

People are talking about draws and everything. Sounds kind of boring. [a small huff] We've come this far. Do they really think either of the Witches would be happy with a draw?

I don't know if it'll work like that unless she could get all the Witches every where agree to it, right?

I mean, that's Nirrti's problem, not ours, isn't it? She's just got to do some more out of the box thinking. Something like that.

[You can't change anything before changing yourself first, yada yada. Really he's just throwing the entire pasta factory at the wall at this point but whatever.]

Well, it's either a draw, somebody wins, they both lose, or the ghost ends up being a third party to the Game and wins instead. That might be kind of interesting, actually. [okay back on topic] What, were you thinking of something else?

That isn't the worst idea. Nirrti seems to have very set concepts of what a Witch is, and yet these mystical concepts of Truth seem at least partially based in the subjective.

Our victory conditions, after all, are not to find the objective Truth, but only one that the Witch will accept. If her Truth regarding the existence of a Witch could be changed...

[Kurama leans back slightly, rubbing a hand over his face.]

And no, I doubt either would be content with a draw. I wouldn't be, were I a player and not a piece.

Yeah, there's all kinds of Truths that we can use in trial against a Witch, so I wonder if we could use that in other places, too... Either way, it has something to do with changing Nirrti, I guess? It's going to be a tall order! She's pretty set in liking her ways.

[He hums a little over it all.]

If there was a draw, couldn't you just see them starting another Game all over again? And again and again and again. Seems much easier to just end it in one swoop.
