WEEK 4 - VENUS FLYTRAP

Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

It's a detective novel.

[ Specifically The Fiend with Twenty Faces, in this case. ]

Oooh, brilliant. That is definitely gonna help us in this situation.
literalidiotball: (Whazat over there?)

Unless you're trying to plot a murder.

In that case, please don't! We're already down six people, including Watanuki, since, you know, he used to be playing on our side. Plus it's awful!

[Wheatley's rambling, he doesn't realize.]

You do know that Kimihiro is still here, right? I would never betray him.
literalidiotball: (say apple)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-16 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Brilliant! That's wonderful to hear!

[That calms him down some...]

... So what's the book about, then? Some sort of shapeshifting bloke?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think he's a shapeshifter. He's apparently a master of disguise. . . and a gentleman thief, actually. That's why he's called that.
literalidiotball: (Ah... One problem)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-16 06:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. [Wheatley attempts to read over Sayoran's shoulder.]

So, what's he doing investigating a mystery?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, he's actually not the one investigating the mystery.

He's the main antagonist. Apparently, he threatens Tokyo, but the country's greatest detective is overseas on business, so his assistant, Kobayashi Yoshio, and the Boy Detectives Club have to deal with him.
literalidiotball: (Don't trust you)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-16 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooooh... Huh.

[Squints.] Dunno how much of a mystery it is if we already know who the culprit is.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we don't know his true identity. Just the title that he's given. If he's a master of disguise, he could pretend to be anyone in the story.

That's the part you have to figure out, I guess.
literalidiotball: (Whazat over there?)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-16 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooooh...

Okay, now it's making sense... And kind of creepy, actually. Like, what if the villain was pretending to be one of the protagonists this whole time?

... No offense. [Because this didn't just remind him of Watanuki, nope.]

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
None taken.

[ He manages to say that rather calmly. ]

And that's possible. But it's probably not the case in this story since the detectives are children.
literalidiotball: (I meant to do that.)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-18 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, right, you mentioned that-

Wait, are we absolutely sure the thief is not also a child? Because there seem to be quite a few books out there that have kids as thieves or detectives or other things that they should be too young to do.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-18 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I'm pretty sure. If they're a master of disguise, they're probably not a child.
literalidiotball: (Ah... One problem)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-18 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
Mmmn... And not a teenager either?
excavated: (pic#13008092)

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-18 05:01 am (UTC)(link)
I can't be sure about that.
literalidiotball: (I meant to do that.)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-19 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
So they could still be helping out the kids, could they?

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-19 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

But I think think that they would really help.
