Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

If it isn't, then what would even be the point of this game? It's over the title of the Witch of Dimensions, isn't it? From what I can tell, Watanuki mostly wants it for sentimental purposes, but I could never quite figure out why Nirrti wanted it.

I assumed it was because she wanted to find something that only the Witch of Dimensions could find, but I couldn't really figure out where to go from there.

You're right about that. To Kimihiro, Yuuko-san is. . . important to him. When I talked to the Witch about the 'Endless' title, she mentioned that she did not want to be an Endless Witch. And that her magic was greater than that. And she followed it up with "I want to win for one reason only - to keep this face. Anything else is irrelevant."

...Turning that around, doesn't it also imply that for some reason, keeping that face is extremely important to her? That's not something you do just to antagonize someone unless you have a personal reason.

Especially since she seems to be putting her life at risk by running this game.

Then there's two reasons I can think of. Yuuko-san's appearance is important to her for some reason. [ He doesn't know what that reason is, just that it's important, somehow. ] Or if we reverse that... What if she doesn't like her original appearance?

There's another way to go there, too. She mentioned she threw away her humanity, didn't she? What if the price of that was her original appearance? If she truly threw away everything she was as a price to become the Witch of Misfortune, she might not have anything else.

I think that's possible. To gain that much power by sacrificing that much. . . it could happen.
