Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

It's quite good, actually! And I don't say that lightly. I'll have to seek other works out by this author while I'm here.

If you think so, I might have to read that when you're done as well, too. Is it a murder mystery novel? I assume it is based on the title.

It certainly is! It's also....very enlightening to me for a variety of reasons. I won't spoil the twist in the tale for you, though. You'll have to read it yourself and find out!

I see. I really appreciate that you're not spoiling it for me. I'd like to read it with an open mind, after all, so I can figure it out on my own.

Of course! To spoil a good story is like spoiling one's dinner. You can certainly eat it after that, but you won't enjoy it in the least.

[He's adamant about that, though. With a 'thump', he closes the book and hands it over to Syaoran.]

Here. I spotted another copy in the library, so I'll simply borrow that one.

I don't think a completely unkind person would let me borrow the book they were reading just because there was another copy in the library. . . I do enjoy reading a lot though. Since it's one of the best ways to learn.
