WEEK 4 - VENUS FLYTRAP

Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

I can assure you that it is the opposite of fun.

[He rest his chin on his hand, opening one eye]

One suggestion several of us seem to have consider is that we do not use the blue truth until we have a solid, working theory. We should clarify without them.

I don't know, detective, you seemed to be having plenty of fun to me.

[Like, maybe his definition of fun is absolutely skewed beyond belief but also? Holmes, you did a whole speech on truth while impaled, he's counting it. He grins at him, and nods.]

I don't think she's going to bother letting us do anything with less than a pretty good theory, but that still means that in building it we'll probably give her the tools to throw us over again, just like last time. It's a good strategy, and she could use it for every trial if she really wanted to.

And if you really get pinned by her, it's Game Over.

[Why does he still sound so stoked about everything, including death.]

So, if we do have a theory, better make it a relay instead of a sprint.

You mean we all help in giving it instead of just one person doing the whole thing?
anonnomnomnom: (My what a nice sword you have.)

And probably stand a little farther apart just in case she feels like getting into it! Pretty much.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that or we hold off on things until we have a full theory. . .

We can't be trigger happy like we were during the last trial. Otherwise, she can just throw all of our Blue Truths back at us and it'll hurt. It's better to have one more detailed theory than to have many wrong ones. And I was speaking to Holmes-san about this too, about utilizing questions without going for the Blue so it will help us out more.

So no matter how much some of us [ you know who you are ] enjoy inflicting pain on her, we shouldn't just throw partial theories around haphazardly.

[she twirls a strand of hair on her finger.]

And she was perfectly willing to use red truths to poke holes in whole theories.

But I think the important thing about the new theories is... they probably need to name a culprit too.

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think that's necessarily the case. We might want to get some red from her to revise things, so if we immediately have a full theory with a culprit that she decides not to smash for whatever reason, it might be a little dangerous.

We could potentially scapegoat somebody that way.

Ah, that's true. Too quick, and we could get the wrong person again...

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I think what we need is probably... a balance.

Between asking the Witch questions and utilizing the Blue at the right times. If she doesn't respond to us with a statement or a Red, I think our best bet is to pull back for the time being and not pull the next Blue trigger and rework our theories and then go for another attack.

See what she does. Paying attention to her actions is important so that one person doesn't get kicked out of the game entirely, or worse like last time.

Ahaha, Syaoran learned well.

[Anon you have absolutely no room to talk on this subject in particular.]

[personal profile] excavated 2019-04-16 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
If we didn't learn from our mistakes, we can't move forward.

You'd be surprised at how many people just go backwards!

[He gives a little laugh at his own silly joke, which is most probably a joke.]

. . . People do that a lot?

Constantly! Some days I think they really prefer it that way.

How should I know? I don't have any interest in it.

[Why is he like this.]
