Another week dawned.

But after the events at the trial, more than a few people would have wanted for time to stop still.

In this game, even unshakable loyalties....could be broken.🗈

If that were the case, then what was stopping even more horrible crimes from happening this thursday night?
And they knew they could do nothing to stop it from happening.

...Still, they had to continue the game, until one or both of the Witches admitted defeat, or the game itself came to a close.

Yet, they also felt as if something might change. Some big reveal felt as if it was just around the corner....but for now, it seemed as if they had to play the waiting game.

No matter how awful that felt.

I'm trying to make some coffee. My Akira would make this for us all the time, and I want to think of him right now.

... And maybe give some to whoever comes back wearing Akira's body.

I see. If it's alright, do you mind if I try some when you're done? It might be better to share a drink with a friend.

Yes! Be my guinea pig!

[she's looking for the coffee beans now, and for something to grind them. Watch her!]

And then you can share some of your fish with me?

Sure, I don't mind. I was doing some practice before I teach Takumi, anyway, so that'd be perfect.

We're both practicing! Let's hope I nail, or get close to, the perfected Sakura Coffee Methodology.

[which means, she's got beans, and she's got a grinder.

It's all about showing love in what you do, and having that come through the coffee.

[ Hearing the name Sakura makes him pause for a second but he soon shakes it off, smiling in return. ] Yeah. Being able to show love through any sort of cooking... or anything really.

... Is the name Sakura important to you, Syaoran-kun?

[she sets the water to boil, and then starts getting the coffee set to grind]

[ He grabs a knife and starts chopping the fish into rather thin slices. ]

It is. There's someone really important to me that goes by that name.

Ohhhhh.

Are you worried about her?

[look at them, making coffee and fish]

I'm not worried, but--

I miss her.

[fullbodied]

I miss my best friend, too.

[she reaches out and puts a hand lightly on his for a moment.]

But she's still in your heart, you know. And sometimes, you have to trust that.

It's... what my Akira taught me. [and why he was so important to her]

I know. I love her, so I believe that I'll see her again. And you'll see your best friend again, too.

Mmhm. I love Shiho too. So we just need to hold steady, y'know?

[but now, she waits on the water, so she focuses in on watching Syaoran.]

[ He's making sashimi, so that's probably fun to watch. ]

We'll be able to make it through this.

[it absolutely is, so of course now that that conversation's found a natural lull, she's going to launch into missing Japanese food.]

Mmmm, it's been so long since I've had sushi...

Did your world have sushi? [ And now his curiosity is piqued. ]

Uh-huh! Japan invented it!

And I've traveled all of my world, and even though you can get it anywhere, it's still best when you get it in Japan.

You're from Japan too? There's a lot of people from Japan here, huh. . . Do they make it differently in other countries?

[fullbodied]

I'm part Japanese and part American, actually. But I've lived most of my life in Japan.

And uh-huh, yep. They do. There's traditional sushi and then there's... Umm, "western" style sushi.

[excavated]

Ohh. I'm part Japanese and part Chinese myself! [ MIXED FAMILY FRIEND ✨ ] I should probably look up western style sushi at some point, then.

[fullbodied]

Yeah? It's cool to meet other people with mixed heritage. There weren't any people like me at school, so I got teased for it a lot.

But still.

Making traditional sushi is a lot harder, you should spend your time perfecting that.

Yeah. My father was from Hong Kong and my mother was from Japan. To be honest, I wouldn't know what school is like since I've never been to an actual school before. I was homeschooled for seven years before I left on my journey. [ His very, very long journey. ] It might be difficult, but I can definitely pull it off.

Mm, that's right.

We talked about your wish to see your parents again. Was Sakura with you on this journey, then...?

No. I met her in the country of Clow originally. . . but after a lot of things, she stayed in her country. She saw in a dream that if she came with me and my other companions there would only be more pain. Sakura didn't want that.
