WEEK 3 TRIAL

It was noon on Saturday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈

...As always, the courtroom was there - along with the audience, watching, waiting for the entertainment before them.

The Witch - Nirrti - was there, sitting in the most important place, watching all of them with a sharp, cruel gaze, a smile of pure delight on her face.

Watanuki was also there, but he merely lounged in the back behind them, smoking a kiseru pipe in silence.
...It seemed as if he was content to watch - that he had to watch - as part of the rules of the game.

There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

Again, their forms had changed - perhaps into something different than last time, but...still a change, no matter how dramatic or inconsequential it was.

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

They had found the truth last time....but now, two people had died.
Was it possible for them to find the culprit this time?
A culprit that....had...

No, it had to be.

For the sake of the dead...and the sake of them all.

Balcony Evidence

I was on the balcony where they-

[Kurama grits his teeth, ears flat against his head. It takes him a moment to go on.]

I found two teacups there, with the remains of tea in them. One of them was just chamomile, the other was chamomile and valerian. They're for aiding relaxation and sleep.

There were footprints on the stone railing, Akira's and Ryuji's. The prints faced the balcony and each other, not outward. More like a pair of friends fooling around than her damn fairy tale.

Ryuji's prints showed signs of being pushed. And their.... placement on the fence.... was consistent in distance and angle with two people holding onto each other being pushed from the railing.

I...couldn't find any trace of someone else. No sign of anyone climbing to the balcony from above or below, no other footprints, no anything. I don't accept for a second that Nirrti did this, but whoever did covered their tracks impeccably.

...

[she's trying to put together a list of what could have possibly happened. She needs to make sure that Akira and Ryuji don't fall into the Vinea and Freida trap.]

Akira would have been drowsy... And Ryuji was there to comfort him.

...in one sense, I'm glad for that. In another, I very much wish things had not happened this way.

It's possible the culprit, assuming there is one, wasn't even there at all. If they were already drowsy, and possibly caught up in their own conversation, all it'd take is a slight startle and...

The culprit might have knocked on the door. Or even called up to them from the garden.

Which means it could have still been an accident? Doesn't explain why Erhard was knocked out, though.

I think Erhard-san was just at the wrong place at the wrong time when everyone was knocked out. Kimihiro was also in the room with him, so I don't think he's involved with the murder.
literalidiotball: (Whazat over there?)

[personal profile] literalidiotball 2019-04-13 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... Well. He did stay knocked out for... QUITE a long time. May as well ask him things.

Something happened, from what I heard.

But it's not important to how Akira-san and Ryuji-san died, so we can discuss it after the trial.

[ He'll stand firm on that point although he does glance in Watanuki's direction a little worriedly. ]

[Wheatley follows Sayoran's gaze...]

If you say so... [Simulated gulp.]

I don't think he was actually knocked out? It sounded like he just passed out at the usual time and fell badly?

... Good point.
