WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION

Two weeks had gone by, and Friday had once again come.

As always, they woke up, knowing one of their number was now gone...
It was just a matter of finding their body, now.
No matter what the killer had done to it...a killer that was one of them.🗈

They would have to do that trial again...and would they get the killer right, this time? Or would they condemn another innocent person to die yet again?

...No matter how they felt, they had to search, had to find things that they didn't want to see, dodging the shadow of death.

That...was how this game was played, after all...

...But why...did it feel especially foreboding today...?

[He shook his head in the negative at those questions, making a low sound of frustration, mainly aimed at himself.

Erhard's search will eventually turn up no fresh marks, but several small pinprick-sized scars on his left forearm that look quite old, the way he casually but still somewhat impatiently submits himself to the examine suggests he is quite familiar with the procedure]

Erhard raises his eyes to Ruler's face, lightly rubbing a thumb over one of the old scars.]

... you don't do this anymore from what I can tell. Good.

[Watanuki was struck over the head, maybe Ruler was, too. Erhard checks his scalp next.]

A dear friend of mine helped me overcome the need... it's still there, but quiet, and easier to ignore.

Stress, depression, and boredom can all drive people to addictions. If you've found other outlets that aren't self-destructive, then you're lucky.

[He's frustrated by the lack of medical-type evidence on Ruler, but he's glad the man is alright.]

You must've been ambushed when you were asleep. I tried to stay awake last night, but just like last week I blacked out around midnight. It must be another of the witches' tricks.

[He nods, standing up, taking a moment, a touch woozy, as he quietly steadies himself]

Well, it would not be the first time I had to go through a window if he hadn't.

[With that, and some careful walking as to not disturb evidence, he walks out of the room]

[After the hug pile, Takumi sets off, his mind whirling with grief and new information.

When he sees Ruler he walks up along side, giving Erhard an acknowledging nod]

Ruler-san, do feel up to talking for a bit?

[He asked, expecting to be questioned about the murder, trying to straighten himself up]

Do you wanna sit first? You look pretty wobbly still.

I'm just a touch tired.

[But with a doctor hovering close by, he reluctantly takes a seat]

[he paws around in his bag and brings out a granola bar and half a bottle of water.]

[He accepts it with a nod, nibbling on the granola bar, swallowing, and making that bar disappear rather quickly]

[mood whiplash much? He seems to be carefully watching Ruler's face]

No. I did not, I have done things that are illicit, or even considered immoral, I am no murderer - However, don't just take my word for it, the evidence should show the truth of what happened.

[Erhard watches silently to make sure Ruler doesn't fall over from vertigo. He flinches ever so slightly at Takumi's blunt question, haunted by the overlapping memories of Watanuki fainting at the party and his corpse just minutes ago, both face down and still. He looks as drained as Ruler but he doesn't seek any comfort.]

[he's mostly focused on Ruler, but he does offer Erhard some snacks too]

[Erhard simply shakes his head, not trusting his stomach with anything right now. Takumi is a good kid, though. The doctor will remember this kindness.]

[He stares Ruler down... then nods, seeming satisfied.]

Next, can you confirms some things for me? You said after we saw the play that she was from shortly before you were. That means you were alive and probably not a spirit or Servant yet?

And between investigating and how you appeared during the last trial, would I be off base to assume you were a detective or investigator?

[His eyes lit up for the first time today, his chin resting on his left-hand]

[He pauses, looking at Ruler's arms, though he doesn't seem to know which one to focus on. He only heard bits and pieces of Erhard's investigation through the window. He had arms full of Syaoran, and two very attractive Phantom Theives hugging on them. Bring distracted is pretty understandable.

So he's not SURE, but he suspects- and with his naturally open face it's not hard to read.

In the end he shakes his head- either because he doesn't want to ask without proof or... maybe just a respect for Ruler's privacy.]

Nevermind. Anyway... we know Ruler probs my isn't your real name... are you Detective Sherlock Holmes?
