WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION

Two weeks had gone by, and Friday had once again come.

As always, they woke up, knowing one of their number was now gone...
It was just a matter of finding their body, now.
No matter what the killer had done to it...a killer that was one of them.🗈

They would have to do that trial again...and would they get the killer right, this time? Or would they condemn another innocent person to die yet again?

...No matter how they felt, they had to search, had to find things that they didn't want to see, dodging the shadow of death.

That...was how this game was played, after all...

...But why...did it feel especially foreboding today...?

[ HEY GUESS WHAT there's loud knocking right here. loud angry knocking ] Open the door right now!

Sorry, Syaoran! I’ll get the door in a second. There’s some evidence we have to get out of the way first.

[ He's not waiting. He's going to run out the front door and go in through the window. It'll take him some time, sure, but he's doing it. There's no way he's simply just going to stand around when he heard that Kimihiro is dead. ]

[He was still waking up, processing, not thinking of the consequences but knowing some things do not need to be seen]

Don't! You don't need to see this!

[Ruler staggers out of his seat, stumbling before trying to get up]

[Kurama was already outside anyway, at least? So he'll try to intercept the Syaoran guided missile.]

He's right. You were close to Watanuki, weren't you? It's best you don't...

[Anon’s just going to reach out to push Ruler’s unsteady ass back into his seat.

He’s pretty strong, and also patiently facing the window now.]

No! I have to see him. It's Kimihiro-- it's the person that is the closest to me! Knowing that he's dead is like knowing that I'm dead! I should... I should have been the one to take his place!

[He grunts as he's pushed back into the seat, easily pushed due to his unsteadiness, nearly touching his face with his right hand before he catches himself]

That's exactly why you shouldn't be in there, Syaoran.

[Kurama's tone is gentle but definite. He reaches to lay a hand on Syaoran's arm. They might not be incredibly close but Kurama likes Syaoran and he's hurting.]

[ "It's not your fault." "That's exactly why you shouldn't be in there, Syaoran." That's the moment when it all just shatters in his mind and even though he's right near the window he just winds up falling onto his knees, remembering those words from last week. "If anyone gets murdered, out of the two of us... it shouldn't be you. It should be me." "It's not about who should get murdered. You know it doesn't work like that. And it's not like I want to die!" ... He didn't want to die. Kimihiro didn't want to. And he'd said it before. That he didn't want Kimihiro to get hurt. To get killed because he had obvious weaknesses that could be exploited, now that they knew them. He wanted to stay by Kimihiro's side. But he failed in that, too, didn't he? So now he's just going to be on his knees, sobbing. ] Kimihiro... no... Not again. Why does everyone I care about have to get hurt like this again?!

[Once he heard word of who it was he knew he had to find Syaoran. It took some doing, but here he is.

He knows there's a very real chance he might get attacked but... he tries to pull his friend into his arms regardless]

[ Don't worry, he's not actually moving at all or even bothering to actually say anything as he's just. Crying. Sorry, Takumi, he's really, really upset. ]

[That's fine, he expected as much. In fact, once he's there and sure Syaoran isn't going to rush any possible suspects he starts tearing up too. For Watanuki and Syaoran both]

[ He's angry and upset and a bunch of mixed emotions - a lot of it just directed inward - but at least he's not doing anything that will go and hurt anybody right now? It's fine. Syaoran's fine. (He's not fine.) ]

[ He's here for a few reasons...

While he isn't usually the type to just grab someone into a hug, he's still going to kneel down next to them, putting his hands on their backs. There's nothing he could say to make this better, so he's... quiet. ]

[ It's okay, Akira. What he did still helps. ]

[she falls to her knees beside him, and pulls both of them into a tight hug.

. . . Takamaki-san. [ He manages to say that much when she does hug him, although he honestly can't say much else. ]

[she squeezes a little tighter. it's okay, Syaoran]

Kimihiro didn't deserve this. He said that he might end up dying, but-- he didn't want to. I didn't want him to.

I didn't want him to either.

[she pulls back.]

And you know what? We're gonna find whatever asshole did this.

We will. [ While he's still upset, there's still a keen determination and anger in his voice there. ] I'm not going to just let someone get away with murdering Kimihiro like that.

[Sadly Takumi can't enjoy this hug pile like he would normally]

We'll figure it out. I won't let what happened to Karen happen again.

[he Looks to Akira and Ann as witnesses]

No matter what happens, I need you to not rush into any choices, okay? No accusations, no sacrifices, none of that. Got it?
