It was noon on Saturday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈

This new world looked like...the inside of an ornate courtroom, like something that wouldn't be too far from some kind of grand fantasy novel. The audience was full of people with Goat Heads...like some kind of bizzare trial proceedings.

The Witch - Yuuko - was there, sitting in the most important place, smiling in her mysterious way at everyone. There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

As they looked around, they might have also been surprised to see that their forms had changed - perhaps only slightly, or a much more dramatic change. It seemed like this place demanded a different form in some way, even if it was just a change of clothing.

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

Yesterday had been the start of the game. But now, armed with all they knew...now, they had to truly go up against the Witch, and somehow.....win.

Right?

[Demon blob bobs up and down at the laughter and the return compliment, as though expressing excitement.] Don't I just? Though I get the feeling a lot of the people here are used to being menaced. [It's totally joking, but also he's not wrong?? Everyone's taking this so much in stride. Including himself, though.] So what kind of a fox are you?

My best friend regularly threatens to remove my vocal cords, so I really think all I can say to that is yes.

[Is he joking? Hard to tell from his smile, honestly.]

You must be really good friends if they can do that! [Hard to tell what he's actually talking about, but the skeleton head also appears to be smiling??] Four doesn't sound like a lot of tails, though. Does your friend have more?

Very much so, though he'd never admit it.

It does take a while to grow more tails. But my friend isn't a kitsune at all, he's a fire demon.

So he's the type to pretend not to be friends but actually be friends, like... what was it, cats do that, right? [How do cats work, apparently. He is a fur blob, but he doesn't know how cats work.] The Foundation was the first time I started meeting other kinds of demons. What can you do besides change your hair color?

Hiei is very much like a cat in many ways, yes. And that's exactly it.

When my powers are actually working, I can manipulate plants, including turning them into weapons.

I'm not allowed on missions with plant-based SCPs.

Aha, that's good to know! I've only read about cats in books, so I wasn't sure what they were really like. [So now Hiei is the only cat he knows. RIP.] Ah, that's a real interesting power! There was this really interesting guy, back home, who could do the most amazing things with plants. He's still growing just now, but I'm sure he's going to be even more amazing someday! [congrats, you triggered his protag senses] Ah, but why are you banned from plant-based SCPs? Doesn't that mean you're better at handling them? [Peering at the pout.]
