WEEK 1 TRIAL
It was noon on Saturday.
No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.
The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈
No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.
The world...began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards another, much larger world...🗈
This new world looked like...the inside of an ornate courtroom, like something that wouldn't be too far from some kind of grand fantasy novel. The audience was full of people with Goat Heads...like some kind of bizzare trial proceedings.
The Witch - Yuuko - was there, sitting in the most important place, smiling in her mysterious way at everyone. There was no music to be heard, but... perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.
As they looked around, they might have also been surprised to see that their forms had changed - perhaps only slightly, or a much more dramatic change. It seemed like this place demanded a different form in some way, even if it was just a change of clothing.
...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.
Yesterday had been the start of the game. But now, armed with all they knew...now, they had to truly go up against the Witch, and somehow.....win.
Right?

Then the killer used the garden stake to pry the tape on the window loose without breaking it.

[Her truth becomes...a paper seal?]
The garden stake was never used to pry off the tape on the window! In fact, it was never used in any part of this murder!
[The seal splits into four, and slaps on Kurama.
Enjoy that burning pain, my dude.]

[This time, instead of a wavering blue radiance that disappears, Joey points her finger, and the blue light focuses into something like a flashlight beam.
The killer hid in the bathroom before Erika sealed the door. They had no need to open a locked window from the outside at all..

[The light burns her, and she steps back, crying in pain. For a moment...a piece of her skin falls away to reveal an inky black, but she quickly slaps her hand over it and makes it whole again.]
....I....have nothing to say.

That sure happened. ]

[Kurama why do you always fight like this?]

[That's...not something she was looking for but]
No, you know what, I'm not here to hurt you, but if you want an apology, you can have it after you let us go.

[....
That...sounds way more bitter than she's ever used before.]

[no sympathy here]

You can't refute what she said, can you?
The killer came in through the unlocked window before the victim sealed it with tape.

[She winces again, as she takes the hit from whatever Erhard's truth manifests as.]
....!

Ah. Speaking of the bathroom, Yuuko... There's something else that's funny about your story. The washcloth was in the bathroom, and there weren't any signs of struggle on Erika or in the room. So, Erika must have been taken out in the bathroom and the killer had to physically put her in the bed. There wasn't any of that funny stuff with the ocean or whatever!
[Instead of a weapon materializing, a blue replica of his demonic form separates itself from him and flies at Yuuko at a terrifying speed. If it hits, it's definitely going to do some explosive damage.]

Erika was conscious from the moment she went into the bathroom to when she died! She also was not placed physically by any outside force, killer or otherwise!
[Her truth lances as...well, a lance, aiming for amon's center.]

The killer used the stake to prepare for the murder, and hid it after the deed was done.

I wonder-
[He doesn't know if Yuuko can confirm things done after the murder but it can't hurt to try.]
Also: Knowing we would likely be on the hunt for missing items, the culprit didn't just hide the stake, they hid it on their person. The stake is currently in this room.

....Trusting in your fellow people here, if you are determined to call this a mystery, is a foolish move. After all, a killer could hide evidence if they knew their belongings might not be closely looked at.
