WEEK 1 - INVESTIGATION

You all wake up on Friday Morning - having suddenly gone to sleep wherever you were before midnight on Thursday. And while it seems normal, just like any other day...you have a deep, sinking feeling in your gut that something isn't right.
Just as you think that, the hotel speakers suddenly crackle to life, drawing your attention and startling you. Heart racing, you listen to the announcement...

no subject
There's... no numbers.
[He sounds incredibly confused.]
no subject
[She sighs.]
We're going to need some more help, then. We need to find a way to figure either what the combination is, or at least what buttons he touched.
...Or I guess we could also just ask the staff and hope they can open it...?
...Do you... think that would work...?
no subject
Um, maybe?
no subject
Um... For now, it's probably best if you focus on something else?
no subject
[It shouldn't be possible - or so he thought.]
no subject
We don't know if it not having numbers is because it's doing something weird to you or not, so focus on me for the time being.
no subject
[He still looks surprisingly uneasy though.]
Anything I can do to help?
no subject
[You seem like you're better at talking to people than me, so let's have you deal with the talking to people portion.]
no subject
[This seems like a bad idea, because he's actually atrocious at dealing with people, but! He will try to call the Staff?!]
no subject
Anyway, after being told of the situation, she shakes her head.]
Sorry, no can do. That's private property, you know! We can't open it for you without Mr. Prince Albert's express permission.
no subject
Can you tell us the code so we can open it ourselves?
[Technically different!]
no subject
[She puts her hands on her hips, looking exasperated.]
In fact, didn't you two break in here using his key? I think it's time both of you got out of Mr. Prince Albert's room!
no subject
[Also technically different. Ellie, please hide the key if you have it.]
Besides, there might be important clues so we can solve the mystery!

no subject
[She marches behind the two of them and firmly leads them out of the room, using a surprising amount of strength to do it, despite her small size.
The moment they're out of the room, she whirls around, locks it, then holds out her hand.]
The key, please. I don't want to have to hurt you, Dear Guests.
no subject
Well, for the time being, this will do. We'll probably have another chance eventually.
She hands over the key for Room 127, it's not worth endangering someone else over.]
no subject
[The Staff member smiles cheerfully.]
If there's anything else you need, just give us a ring on the app!
[And like that, she gives a wave and heads down the corridor, rounding the corner and going out of sight.]
no subject
Well, for the time being, knowing it's there is what matters, and I did still manage to get his notes gathered up.
no subject
[Whoops!]
Let's take a look at the notes. We should probably bring them to the trial tomorrow, too.
no subject
That being said, it might be a bad idea to bring them to the trial. If the staff treat the notes in the same way they treat the contents of the safe, we might lose them as soon as we bring them to the trial... We're probably going to need to make some copies.
