All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

I admit I have a certain weakness for sweets.

I'm more of a savory guy. But on the beach with a bonfire... marshmallows are kinda required.

[Kurama skewers a marshmallow neatly before holding it out closer to the fire.]

How are you doing after your unfortunate manchineel encounter?

Manchineel? Is that what it's called? Eh... still hurts. A lot. Dr. Erhard took good care of me though. It'll probably scar a little but nothing crippling.

Among other, far less polite things. They're very dangerous, as you discovered. I'm glad to hear it should heal well.

Guess I should be glad I didn't try to climb it or eat an apple like an idiot.

[Kurama shudders just a little, making a face.]

Definitely. If you'd eaten one of the apples you'd almost certainly be dead now.

And no one would have even earned a wish...

[Kurama gives a faint snort.]

I suppose that's true. I'm a bit wary of these promised wishes. Stories about genies and other wish-granters are usually cautionary tales.

Yeah. It could easy end up a monkey's paw...

[he grabs a marshmallow, fiddling with the skewer to distract from grim conversation]

Precisely. But I can't say I'll be terribly surprised if someone takes the bait.

[Kurama pulls his own marshmallow back from the fire, turning it to examine thoughtfully. It's mostly a light brown color and mostly not burnt, which he calls good enough to nibble on.]
