WEEK 1 MINGLE - KALMIA

All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

[being small, he's found himself a window sill to sit on. He finally does pipe up;]

The tape idea is a good one, I'll admit. But you'd have to do the same to the windows. The latches are shoddy.

...Yes, the windows are a weak point. I've already tested it and it wiggles off with enough effort.

But, that won't deter me. At the very least we can identify if anyone left through their door. Forcing them to go outside is another obstacle they'll have to contend with.

While it is a good idea, it's not 100% foolproof. I know of a simple way the culprit could render it worthless.

And what do you suppose is that?

Are you going to say "gnawing your way through the door?" I'll admit, I hadn't considered such a thing, but perhaps as an 'ultimate life form' it would be mere child's play for you.

[snickers]
chaoscontrol: cooler than sonic anyway (yeah i am pretty cool)

[he scoffs] Far more simple than that, dear detective. The culprit could not put their tape back as it was, that much is true. But the rooms are all so very close together... it would only take a few minutes to rip the tape off every door completely.
very_good_end: (Flames.)

In theory, yes, that would be a good way to prevent anyone from having any alibi... but tape ripped deliberately off a door is very different from tape that is separated when the door is opened. Furthermore, it would take effort. More than a 'few minutes' as it would risk discovery from the inhabitants of each room. Though, if they're willing to go to all that trouble, then by all means.

[he shrugs, again unperturbed] There's no such thing as a foolproof alibi.

[ugh, annoyance. she snaps at him]

Well, no shit. If there was, it wouldn't be much of a mystery, would it?!
chaoscontrol: (crouched and suspicious)

[he makes a face]

My. Temper, temper. Forget I said anything.

[he'll go back to looking out the window and eavesdropping]
