All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

Oh, right! As long as you don't start dancing or flailing around, it's never going to hit you! I'm an expert at this!

[Does this sound reassuring when the blade just whistled a little over Takumi's ankles? Hm.

Nevertheless, he obligingly moves a couple inches. So at least his companion no longer has to disappear into the mattress.


But of course, waving a sword around doesn't just mean sticking to one spot. That would be just silly. Is Takumi brave enough to reclaim the bed...?]

Ah, but the other weapons aren't outside. Do you want me coming in and out of the room all the time? You're busy reading, aren't you?

[He is probably no longer busy reading.

He does obligingly lower the blade, though, having gone through a couple of swings and seemingly satisfied. It goes back on whatever rack it came from. He contemplates the rest...]

What are you reading, anyway? These books give me a funny feeling...

I'm not sure... I think they might be spell books?

Ehh, then they belong to the Witches? Maybe there's some witchy secrets in them?

[He was reaching for another, bigger sword but you have successfully distracted him!

He picks up one of the spell tomes instead, handling it a little gingerly but otherwise peering at it with interest.]

You don't know much about magic, do you, Takumi?

Magic? No... I mean what I do would probs my be called Magic by certain people. What I call using AIs to hack the world a Witch might call using summoned creatures to rewrite reality. It's subjective.

Spells are just formulas and code for the real world.

Ah, but there's all kinds of things that can be called magic. I know they call some people tech wizards, but! I think this is a pretty exclusive Witches' club. Didn't Yuuko say you had to be a billion years old and go through hell on top of stuff like rewriting reality?

[Why is he taking rewriting reality in stride. Maybe because he's experienced it. Maybe not.]

But it's true that things like spells are a good blueprint for interacting directly with the world. So maybe...

[He's going to sit down on the bed with a little bounce to peruse the grimoire he's nabbed.]

But apparently there are a bunch of Witches, so there's a bunch of people who decided it was worth it. It's kind of like having money. There's always going to be things you can't do without power.

[Why do they always end up in power philosophy hell. Hm.

He's just talking as he flips through the grimoire. It's probably incomprehensible though?? A magic prodigy he ain't. He'd need some kind of Witchy reference...]

[He bursts into a peal of laughter so loud he actually drops the grimoire. He also just misses squashing Takumi as he flops back on the bed and keeps laughing.]

Haha! Ahahaha! Of course you don't have to be an adult to understand power! That would be totally ridiculous, considering who we are!

And if you're talking about Witches, I wouldn't know. I don't think it's a problem with your growth, though.
