All of the guests awoke in their rooms, just like they had before.

Yesterday had been a day of surprises.
First, they'd finally met the person who had brought them here - the Witch of Dimensions, Yuuko.
Secondly, they'd learned they were going to be playing a horrible game.
And most important, they learned that wishes could be granted if they won this game.🗈

Still, for now, it seemed like there wasn't much to do. Was the Witch already in talks with the 'Murderer'? Was the 'victim' already decided upon?

There was no way to know until some day later this week, apparently.

Still, it wasn't all bad. The island was beautiful and the climate just perfect for beachgoing, or taking a cosy walk in the garden. There were also board and card games which would be produced upon request - and the tv in the Sitting Room - to help ease the boredom of it all.

Though, perhaps the guests would prefer to get to know each other instead? On maybe get into some trouble as they roamed the island.

Despite being told someone will die, it...felt remarkably peaceful. Could one of their own really be able to kill someone?

...Or, maybe...this is just the silence that comes just before a massive storm breaks, and sweeps away everything...

[Erhard manages to convince one of the goat butlers to bring him a first-aid kit, which is decently stocked. With the threat of murder hanging over their heads, he honestly expected the request to be denied. He's looking through the supplies when he hears the boys approaching, including the remark about amputation. If he had a sense of humor, he'd chuckle at the exchange. But he doesn't, so he... doesn't.]

Let me see your hands. If your clothes or jewelry came into contact with the tree, don't wear them again until they're clean.

[He takes some soft gauze cling and medical tape out of the kit and starts loosely wrapping the burned parts of Takumi's hands and wrists.]

If you feel any increase in burning, undo the dressing and flush your skin with cool running water for ten to twenty minutes. We'll re-dress as necessary. Some antibiotic cream will help with infection risk, but we want to make sure all the toxin is flushed out of your skin before we trap it there with topicals.

[He nods along. Only one hand is blistered, but the other is also irritated.]

Yes sir. I think only my glove touched it but... I'll wash everything just to be safe.

Good. Do you remember which tree caused this? We need to make sure everyone avoids it, there's no telling how toxic it might be if just touching it did this. They gave me the first-aid kit, but I don't think the witch will give us anything to cure poisoning.

[His expression darkens. Damn her for sealing the power he was just learning to use and appreciate.]

Not with this "game" of hers.

I dunno the species but someone had painted a big X on it. I assumed it was a mark for cutting the tree down, not a warning...

Then we need to avoid marked trees. I'm surprised the witch or her people bothered to do that when they want us to die.

[That makes him pause.]

Maybe someone else not involved with her marked them.

Want us to die... I dunno if that's the case.

[He pondering]

She made it very clear that she expects death in exchange for wishes.

[His quietly disgusted tone shows how he feels about that.]

I know- I mean... people die when they're killed-

...but not everyone who dies is killed, you know?

[Erhard leans in and pries one of Takumi's eyes open, closely checking his pupils.]

I think you might've inhaled some of that tree's toxin. You're not making any sense. Any dizziness, double vision, headache?

I am a little dizz- wait, no-! I'm not explaining right.

I mean, she doesn't want us to just die, she wants us to kill. If I died because I licked a tree that wouldn't work for the game. I think.

[He gives Takumi a serious, not at all joking stare.]

You should change your clothes. I can re-wrap your hands if you need to shower.

[He moves to get up to go change but is a little wobbly still]

[Erhard will follow them closely, watching Sora.]

Be careful that you don't transfer anything to yourself by supporting him.

It's okay! I'll be fine.

[ He's fine with getting poisoned. NBD. He'll help him to his room despite his words. ]

Just a little longer, okay? Worry about walking on your own after you get some rest.

[ After they make sure there's nothing else on him. ]

[Erhard's used to seeing people without clothes in his line of work, but he's also willing to allow for some measure of privacy if Takumi is steady enough to disrobe on his own.]

Don't be too embarrassed to ask for help if you're that unsteady. It's better to be seen naked than to risk a fall.
