MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2 TRIAL

It was noon on Friday.

No matter where they were, no matter what they were doing...the moment the chimes rang out through the hall, they felt a change.

The world began to expand, as they felt themselves leaving the world they were on, and towards the world they'd experienced once before. 🗈

Perhaps on another plane, in another place, someone else heard music as they gazed upon the proceedings.

Their forms, just like before, were different now. This was less shocking than it was last time, and yet...

...There was a deep silence in the room, one that no one wanted to break. It was the faint tension in the air, like the moments before a race or a competition begins.

Only this time....this was the last time they would be competing. This was the final week...and the final chance they had at securing their wishes - while denying someone theirs.

...Just a little more to go.

I found something weird in the boiler in the basement. It looked like a weird ball at first, but on further examination, it seems like it was actually a pair of pants with an elastic waist band! I don't know why someone would want to burn a pair of pants though.

[That explains the smell...]

I'm going to assume the paints might have had blood on them? It would make sense for the culprit to try burning the evidence.

Yeah, but why just the pants? Is that all they were wearing?

Either that, or they couldn't clean it.

Um.... Average, I guess? Way too big for me.

Did you bring them with you? Maybe we can look.

Actually, I made sure I was holding on to them! I don't know if they came with me, though.... Where would they end up... [he pats his clothes, then finds the evidence in his coat pocket] Here!

Even with the elastic I doubt we'll be able to get a good size on it...

Well what we know is... the culprit is definitely someone who wears pants!

Sweatpants or dress pants. Those have elastic in them.

I shouldn't have to say this... but does it matter what type of clothing a person usually wears? It is the same as last week: they may think to change it to commit something like a murder.

Is there no way to see what size the pants were?

The heat probably warped the elastic, but it can't hurt to try and hold it up to people. If it IS sweatpants or something though it could stretch...

Even elastics have a snapping point. For example, it may be another piece of evidence that can't stand up to Bruno.

[Sorry Bruno. That's just the facts. But also, they will probably have an issue if everyone is different sizes during trial, huh. Do they need to start making stick figurines.]
