MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION
Even though they had already been through this once before, the atmosphere in the air as they woke up on Friday still felt incredibly ominous.
Yet again, they would have to see the death of one of their own, and investigate as much as they could to find the culprit among them... 🗈

But unlike last time, today felt much more....intense. Like an odd smell in the air, or a palpable feeling of tension, something horrible hanging over them with a knowing sneer.
Even the sounds felt different, though all that could be heard is the normal sounds of the morning...
...
After this - after the final trial - things would be over.
Yet, has this....really been worth it...?
((OOC: Characters will need to bold locations/put it in the subject header to look for clues...or the body!))

I see. Well, thank you for your candor, I guess.
I take it, you got away with it?
no subject
Nope.
[ Then, he shrugs, not sounding remotely offended in the slightest. ]
I almost did, but they managed to get me right at the end.

[smacks her lips in disgust]
But I feel we have perhaps gotten carried away in irrelevant asides. How do you do? I am the normally-Great Detective, Furudo Erika. I have solved countless mysteries over a great variety of worlds, and I have no intention of stopping with this one.
Please, let me hear your name before we delve more deeply into the current situation. It seems I am being forced to play 'catch-up' so to speak, and I have little time to waste.

I just kept it simple. I framed two people - one with a knife, one with a gun - after covering up the stab wounds with bullet holes. I assumed, with a group like this, they'd be frantically scrambling to look for something much bigger.
[ Short and sweet. Two days of heavy planning following the one day spent picking the target. He fought hard. ]
A detective, huh? Guess that means whoever did this one will have an even harder time than I did.
[ Oh, now he just looks utterly intrigued over this situation. Because man is the next trial gonna be fun to watch, or what... But, okay, an introduction is something he can do, too, he guesses. ]
Just Vanitas.

[her expression goes uncomfortable]
I see. How bizarre. --Not the killing or your method, of course. But the unsettling amount of déjà vu that I am feeling...
'Just Vanitas'? Mais, non! Please, tell me you have a surname of some sort and you're just playing coy.

Déjà vu?
[ There's a brief pause after that last bit (what does May No mean????), and then he's just giving a slow smirk. Such a strong reaction over something as small as simply hearing one name? Really? ]
Something wrong?

In what we call 'society', people have things called 'surnames'. With very little exception, mostly for entertainers and monarchs.

The fun thing about meeting people from different worlds? [ just keeping that small smirk ] Shouldn't detectives be more... adaptive?
