MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION

Even though they had already been through this once before, the atmosphere in the air as they woke up on Friday still felt incredibly ominous.

Yet again, they would have to see the death of one of their own, and investigate as much as they could to find the culprit among them... 🗈

But unlike last time, today felt much more....intense. Like an odd smell in the air, or a palpable feeling of tension, something horrible hanging over them with a knowing sneer.

Even the sounds felt different, though all that could be heard is the normal sounds of the morning...

After this - after the final trial - things would be over.

Yet, has this....really been worth it...?

They certainly took their time, didn't they?

[And effort. This is so much effort to kill one girl that it's very unlikely all of these injuries contributed to the issue here. Luna's just been standing back observing Vanitas' Forensic Adventures; but once he's moved on to the neck, she'll step in a little closer and crouch, keeping her dress carefully out of the blood puddle.

She'll change shoes later.]

Do we know what abilities she might have had?

[Due to Luna's expertise at wounds, she'll be able to tell that it was made by a blunt object, and that some of her guts are missing, with some of them having been bitten.]

[Somebody was feeling real peckish last night.

She shakes her head briefly to herself and keeps up her examination. Do the bite marks on the guts match the others on her body? AKA do all the visible bite marks match... Is there any significance to which part of the guts are missing?? Honestly. There is way too much going on here.

And just to speed things along a little, she's going to check on the small cuts and then the claw marks and the broken neck as well. Any new information? Is there some way to tell what actually killed her?

Her nose is wrinkled in a deep frown all the way through. Y'all owe her new shoes for this shit.]

[The bite marks do match! And there doesn't seem to be any significance to the guts that are missing, honestly - it seems almost like they were chosen at random.

Luna, with her medical knowledge, can definitely tell that the broken neck killed her first. The other wounds seem to have been made post mortem.]

[Just gnawing randomly on the corpse seems to match the wild nature of the kill, though something with such small teeth shouldn’t be capable of doing this much damage. What was this, a yaoi goat??

Next, she’s going to examine the claw marks more closely, since Vanitas mentioned them specifically. Boob judge #2 is present and accounted for. What’s the deal here?]

[They look in the wrong hand position for slashing someone with a hand, but with Luna's medical knowledge, she's able to easily tell that while the slashes line up with Bruno's paws, they're too uniform. There's also clear evidence of someone having to use more force than normal to do this, as if they were using something that wasn't overly sharp.]

[Sure does look a lot more like fake claw marks than you'd expect, especially with the size of the teeth and the oddly mundane nature of the actual killing blow. At least they knew to cover up, but she's not sure how much better this is than Vanitas' job at this rate.

Okay, now that she's successfully worked her way up the corpse, time to compare the arm mark across Luna (nice)'s neck to her own arm. Thicker? Thinner? Can you tell how long it may be from the way it tapers? Anything else?]

[The arm mark...is harder to make out. It looks like the arm could be as wide and long as some of the older teens/young adults arms are, but...it's kind of hard to tell with the amount of bruising present.]

Two more things, then.

First: Luna's going to take a look at the hand missing fingers. What severed the fingers?

Next, she's going to step back and then use the flat of her sword to carefully lever Lunafreya up from the ground some. Checking her back and under the body just in case there was something there or under her...?]

[The fingers look like something bit them off.

There's nothing under her, though - and her back has no wounds on it.]

[After a moment, she releases Lunafreya, but surveys the body again as a whole.

Does what gnawed on the rest of her match what bit the fingers?]
