MOCK ROUND - WEEK 2 INVESTIGATION

Even though they had already been through this once before, the atmosphere in the air as they woke up on Friday still felt incredibly ominous.

Yet again, they would have to see the death of one of their own, and investigate as much as they could to find the culprit among them... 🗈

But unlike last time, today felt much more....intense. Like an odd smell in the air, or a palpable feeling of tension, something horrible hanging over them with a knowing sneer.

Even the sounds felt different, though all that could be heard is the normal sounds of the morning...

After this - after the final trial - things would be over.

Yet, has this....really been worth it...?

I walk by this door a lot and I don't remember there being a smell like that before... [he looks a bit sick, but...] We should probably go check it out. There might be evidence!

[He holds up a finger as if to say "One moment!". He dashes off down the hall and comes back... with a clothes-pin on his nose. He gives Takashi a thumbs up and answers nasally]

Ah! Takashi! The stove is on! Er... boiler? That hot thing.

[Silver takes off his clothes pin and gets nearer the boiler, sniffing. Is the smell stronger there?]

[thankfully, telekinesis means never having to touch anything! First things first, he turns off the boiler. Then, using his power, he starts sifting through the contents]

[As he takes the proper steps, he eventually finds....a weird melted ball? It's...hard to tell what it originally was, but it's definitely the source of that burning smell.]

That's weird... Is this some kind of toy?

[Melting rubber/plastic... yuck. He sets it aside and keeps digging. Anything else?]

[Alright! Well, he'll check the floor for footprints (besides Takashi's) or any other disturbances before taking his ball and going home putting it somewhere safe]

He's actually going to bring it outside into the sunshine and get a better look at it. Its color, its texture... or is it too melted to really see anything?]

[It looks weird, but...in the sunshine, you can tell it looks...kind of crumpled? and there might be a faint seam where it melted together, where there wasn't one before.]

This sure is weird... what IS this thing?

[Silver is going to keep messing with it with his telekinesis. Can he un-crumple it? Maybe break that melted seam?M/small>]

[He can! And when he does, he finds a slightly intact elastic band, which has melted plastic on it, but is mostly intact.]
