Week Three Afterparty - How we'll drink until we're kind, searching for our wasted time

It had been a strange day - while they were no fewer in number than they had been the day before, the guests had learned a harsh lesson. That no one, even a dear friend, could be trusted when the power of a Witch was concerned. That Misfortune could not be avoided forever.

They had seen a glimpse of the Witch's true face, and all were shaken by the knowledge...🗈

No one was exactly eager to gather after the disgusting sight of Akira's execution. But drifting off to their own devices seemed too cold, so Takumi, almost frantic, set about making some light food for everyone. Mostly sandwiches, some rice and fish, soup... fare that would be easy on the stomache.

He didn't bother sending out notes. After three weeks everyone knew how this played out, and would arrive if they felt up to it. Or not.

[Takumi is here and... in seemingly passable spirits. Odds are if you're not locked away in your room he's there to offer food or a shoulder, as usual.

Later on, once things slow down though, he can be found in the Master Bedroom running his hands along the ways and up the edges of the furniture and other things. His music pounding in his ears again.]

[It takes him a moment to notice, but once he does he pulls his goggles down around his neck and turns his music off, moving to her side]

[she reaches out to hug him.]

[He meets her halfway, hugging her as hard as his scrawny arms can manage]

I'm... I'm so sorry...

You're not the one that has anything to apologize for.

I wish he'd never answered that question.

[she pats his hair lightly, trying to communicate some sort of soothing to him]

... Did you make all of this, Takumi?

[He nods]

I mean, it's instant soup and the fish is a little bland. But... yeah.

[He laughs a little sadly]

I should thank him. I... had no idea I was such an obvious target.

[she doesn't like that. don't take that away from that conversation.]

Fuck that. I like you the way you are, Takumi-kun.

It's okay. You still set all of this up, so I still appreciate it. Although I could always teach you a bit at some point if you want to.

How to cook the fish properly.

I don't want any of you to have to find me dead somewhere because I wasn't paying attention...

Trusting people isn't something you should be afraid of. And if you were fooled, then I'm the biggest fool in this whole mansion.

[ Syaoran smiles a little softly in return as well. ]

[he rubs the back of his head awkwardly]

You're no fool, Ann-san. You were... amazing out there today. I don't wanna start distrusting people but... I don't wanna die either.

[Even though he said he was preparing for it]

[but she just looks at him, quietly.]

... But you were really kind. And I guess... I just don't want you to think that was a mistake.

[He thinks of the things Anon had said. How he wasn't exactly the best at survival.]

[Was he really willing to give up on his beliefs just to get through? Wasn't that, in a way, just what Akira had done]

[Joey's seen a certain someone wake up in a puddle of her own drool far too many times to think underage drinking is fun, otherwise she'd be going for the liquor stashes.]

[That said, she has immediately changed into pajamas and is flopped on the table staring at food she's trying to make herself eat rather than doing anything resembling "partying".]

[Yeah she's not going to be in cheering people up mode after all of that.]
